The participants unanimously adopted the Peoples' Protocol on Climate Change. They also called for boycotting purchase and consumption o products from "irresponsible" countries and their multinational corporation.

In their presentations, they confirmed and strongly expressed the impacts of climate change to their lives. These are felt and seen in the drying of water bodies like lakes, ponds, rivers, springs; water shortage both for human and animal consumption and other uses; proliferation of pandemics like malaria and other diseases; decrease in agricultural yield and related food insecurity; expansion of desert: high lands experiencing malaria; increased temperature resulting in harsh environment; and their inability to predict rain and cropping seasons.

This assembly was organized by the Ethiopian Society for Consumer Protection, in cooperation with AAEPA, FIE and IBON International.
